    Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians.

    Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED.

    The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.


    Job Summary:


    The Director is responsible for the direction and leadership, operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Sterile Processing, Anesthesia and Operating Room.

    This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization.

    While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position's major responsibilities are directing the day-to-day operations, financial management and human resource management.

    The director works with a variety of leaders, coordinating activities across the organization.

    Responsibilities

    Provides and experience and environment of patient and family centered care including incorporation of the organizations mission and values.

    Creates and maintains a satisfying workplace that fosters professional growth and job satisfaction for all members of the healthcare team.

    Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies that support a culture of leadership.
    The determination of the qualifications and competencies of the personnel who provide patient care services.
    Directing the quality assurance and process improvement activities and ensures compliance with patient care practice standards.
    Continually assess and improves the performance of the services provided
    Collaborates with hospital personnel and physicians to ensure optimal patient care
    Promotes a positive working environment in the department and hospital
    Ensure services maintain compliance with the standards of practice for the departments as well as regulatory and/or accreditation agencies

    Identifies cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers.

    This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
    Collaborates with Senior Management in meeting facility goals.
    Takes patient assignments as needed to meet census demands and fluctuations.


    Requirements:
    Graduate of professional school of nursing
    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required
    Master's in Nursing or other related field preferred
    Five + years acute medical surgical or critical care nursing required
    Three + years progressive leadership experience required
    Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse
    Current BLS through American Heart Association required
    Board Certification in leadership or operating room preferred
