    The Department of Community Development is seeking a Development Code Administrator.

    The Development Code Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and staff of the Development Review Division, which conducts current planning: land use review, development permits, and subdivisions.

    Serves as a key member of the Community Development Department's Management Team. Works to continually approve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department. See Job Description for full duties.

    Bachelor's degree (BA) in Community Development; public administration; urban regional or environmental planning; or a closely related field from a four-year college or university and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience at a senior level in planning or public administration, including at least two (2) years as a Senior Planner or Manager of discrete work unit including direct responsibility for performance of a team and/or individual subordinates; OR; an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A Master's degree (MA) in an appropriate field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred.
    This is a full time Exempt salary position at MGR 19. Pay range is $6,400.91 to $8,351.74 in 2023, starting pay typically $6,400.91 per month, DOE. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. 12 days of vacation to start, 11 paid holidays, sick leave, and bereavement leave.
