    Silicon Valley Medical Development is currently seeking a talented Part Time Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our growing healthcare team

    Pay: $34.00/hr - $52.00/hr

    Location: San Jose, CA

    Part Time: 20 hours per week

    Schedule: Tuesday/Thursday 11am-3:30pm, Wednesday 9am-5:30pm, Friday 9am-12pm

    The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) under general supervision and within in the scope of their certification or licensure, assists providers by performing greeting and identifying patients, escorting patient to exam room, identifying purpose of visit, preparing patient for office visit such as weighing patient, taking vital signs, performing minor medical procedures and other tasks associated with patient care. The LVN delivers care within the scope of the California Nurse Practice Act and SVMD Policies and Procedures.

    Essential Functions:

    Clinical duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Assists physicians with patient visits which include rooming and interviewing patients, taking and recording vital signs to include height and weight, documenting medications, and entering the information in the patients' electronic medical record (EMR), provide patients teaching
    • Prepares and reviews patients' EMR according to standard Pre-Visit Prep workflow. Reviews EMR entries for completeness ensuring all required information is included.
    • Performs and assists providers with routine and/or specialized clinical procedures (some procedures require vendor and provider training)
    • Administers ordered medications and vaccines in a safe, accurate, professional and timely manner following policies and procedures (IV medications require IV certification).
    • Mix medications including anesthetics agents.
    • Monitor post-sedation.
    • Assist in making follow-up appointments and consultation appointments with specialists for patients.
    • Reviews schedules daily and prioritize day to assist with all procedures which are out of scope of practice for medical assistants.
    Performs all other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities.

    • Participates in performance improvement activities.

    • Adheres to HR, safety, HIPAA and compliance policies, and attendance requirements.
    • Completes annual health screening and online training modules.
    • Performs work in accordance with established schedules, policies and procedures.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse License
    • One (1) year License Vocational Nurse nursing experience
    • Current CPR Certification
    • Experience working with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
    • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM.
    • Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills
    • Solid patient/guest relations skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
    • Ability to accurately perform basic math.
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize task in order to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow.
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others.
    • LVN-IV Certification
    • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
