- Communicates and works with service department team members to implement departmental processes that ensure customer satisfaction and tracks the progress of same.
- Coaches and mentors service technicians, especially those who are new or don't yet have a lot of experience.
- Works to grow the business, both in service and the dealership as a whole; willing to reach out to both existing and new customers to create and develop positive and productive relationships.
- Works with a positive attitude and with other departments in the dealership to promote communication and overall growth of the dealership.
- Communicates with customers on scheduling, creates and communicates quotes, handles customer complaints, follow-ups, and overall communication between the service department and the customer.
- Assists in the creation of annual location service department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization's financial and operational objectives.
- Executes service department marketing plan with direction from the corporate service manager and marketing manager.
- Ensures that all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims are completed within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit.
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to service department team members according to their knowledge and skills.
- Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing.
- Assists in coordinating customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events.
- Assists human resources and others with recruiting, staffing, and implementing development activities for service department team members.
- Manages service department team members to ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Assists with the development and training of service department team members and completes performance reviews of service staff.
- May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
- Operates and oversees maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
- Ensures a clean and safe work area is maintained in the service department shop.
- Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are followed by service department team members in performing work assignments.

- 3+ years of experience working in a service department; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
- Experience leading a team and working cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with service department team members, other departments, and customers.
- Experience with ag and lawn and garden equipment.
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Experience with basic computer functions.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting internal reports.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; associate's degree preferred.
