    Your New Role

As an entry level engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineer graduate, you perform a variety of routine engineering tasks to support the design of mechanical systems (plumbing, piping, HVAC and fire protection) for building construction while in a training status under supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE). The complexity of projects assigned, responsibility assumed and degree of supervision necessary will change as you gain experience. In addition, you may lead routine projects of limited scope.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
    • Actively engage as a project team member on various building and construction projects, providing professional and technical support.
    • Directly apply basic engineering principles and techniques to projects.
    • Develop, prepare, and review engineering plans, designs, reports, or studies, identifying engineering solutions with the oversight of a PE, and review shop drawings, RFIs, and vendor documents as required.
    • Participate in project meetings, perform jobsite visits, or conduct on-site investigations/assessments of existing buildings, which may include occasional overnight travel.
    • Undertake technician-level tasks under the guidance of an experienced employee.
    • Develop an understanding of work quality and actively minimize risk, with routine self-checks for completeness and accuracy.
    • Perform quality control on plans to ensure design standards, code compliance, state regulations, and local ordinances are met.
    • Be prepared to take on additional duties, responsibilities, and activities as needed for client project delivery and company operations.
    WHAT YOU'LL BRING
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required. Preferred candidates have taken the following courses: Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, and Thermodynamics.
    • Experience working as mechanical EIT or intern is a plus.
    • EIT or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is preferred. Candidates without an EIT or EI and a commitment to obtain within 6 to12 months will be considered.
    • Experienced in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems with a solid understanding and application of engineering principals, practices and concepts.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD and current mechanical engineering software (e.g., TRACE 3D Plus, IES VE). Working knowledge of MicroStation, and Smartsheet is a plus. Ability to maintain skill levels within the changing technology environment.
    • Ability to navigate and apply national, state and local codes along with American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE) standards to overall project and individual system designs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Candidates holding an EIT or EI certification are committed to complete The Principals and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam within a dedicated time frame. Candidates will be expected to obtain their PE license for career progression.
    • Candidate shall demonstrate proper documentation to lawfully work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
