    Weld/Weld Prep Team Lead-Ryan De RooFLSA Status: Non-ExemptCompensation: HourlySummaryThe primary purpose of this position is to Fabricate and Weld steel parts according to blueprint specifications.

    Welders are called to use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms.

    Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManufacture and fabricate finished metal productsFollow blueprints to meet product specificationsCalculate material measurements to verify specificationsConduct tests to evaluate weld quality and toleranceAssemble and weld structures, sub-assemblies and be responsible for filing, burring and weldingRely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goalsWork in a team environment to achieve quality and quantity according to customer needsMaintain a clean and safe work spaceSafely operate all equipmentOperate and maintain a MIG welder without supervisionPerform other duties as assignedCompetencies (check all that apply)Analytical Decision-MakingCommunicationLearning & DevelopmentPlanning & OrganizingProfessionalism & IntegrityFinancial ManagementRisk-Taking/Creative ThinkingTeamwork & Relationship-BuildingResults OrientationEEO Accountability Managing OthersEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentExperienced or technical training as a structural welder with the ability to join, fabricate and weld metal tube and pipeTravelThis position requires minimal to no travelComputer SkillsBasic computer skillsDemonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systemsOther SkillsTimeliness of work completionCompliance and execution with company policiesLimit lost timeDevelopment and participation in scheduling systems that provide a smooth interface between disciplinesReduction in lead time to the customer from order to deliveryAdhere to and enforce all safety policies as determined by Porter Corp.
