    Dispatcher/Senior Clerk (Part Time)

    Primary Responsibilities
    Manages department communication, provides clerical and record support to the department.

    Maintains radio communications with all shift personnel; monitors and records transmissions; responds to requests; maintains accurate locations of assigned personnel.

    Maintains log of activities as they occur; prepares and files incident reports. Prepares and files work orders; registers vehicles; and other clerical needs.

    Upon request conducts motor vehicle registration checks, security reports, and affiliation checks from department records for officers in the field or as requested by external agencies under emergency scenarios.

    Responsible for monitoring the card access control system, production of the University identification cards and for assigning appropriate access levels to card holders.

    Responsible for answering the emergency blue light telephones and emergency call boxes; and dispatches appropriate personnel to the caller location.

    Composes and sends Emergency Notification Alert messages to the campus community under emergency and/or testing conditions. Performs other duties as needed or as assigned.
    This is a part-time position with one primary shift per week = Fridays 7am-3pm. Ability to fill in for other shifts as needed for coverage to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Minimum Qualifications
    High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; two years experience as a dispatcher or experience in an office setting preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to follow verbal and written directions. Must be able to deal with highly confidential matters. Must have ability to remain composed, multi-task, work in high pressure environment and during emergency situations. Must have experience working with computer applications, strong working knowledge of Windows applications preferred. Must be able to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as requested. Successful candidates must pass background check.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Salary
    Level 14, CSEA position with wage range $16.39 – $22.67/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
