    About the Role

    The Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Specialist plays a key role in managing and analyzing incoming communications and data related to the prosecution of intellectual property rights. You will handle electronic mail, hard copy correspondence, and faxes, ensuring accurate entry into our IP Docketing database. Additionally, you will prepare customized reports for attorneys and clients to support their work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze and process incoming correspondence related to intellectual property prosecution, meticulously entering relevant data into the docketing database.
    • Ensure accuracy by reconciling communications from clients, foreign agents, and attorneys against docketed deadlines.
    • Utilize resources like the Code of Federal Regulations and other Intellectual Property references to resolve complex docketing challenges.
    • Maintain professional communication with attorneys and staff, addressing docket-related inquiries effectively.
    • Generate timely and tailored reports to support the IP team.
    • Identify and resolve inaccuracies in the docket as needed.
    • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

    Your Qualifications

    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • At least three (3) years of experience in IP Docketing is essential.
    • Knowledge of US Patent prosecution is required; familiarity with foreign and/or trademark prosecution is a bonus.

    Compensation and Location

    In support of workplace transparency, Foley provides salary ranges for our positions. The actual offered amount will depend on factors such as education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity. Salary ranges for this role are as follows:

    • Madison - $62,100 to $86,900
    • Dallas - $68,300 to $95,600
    • Washington D.C. - $74,500 to $104,300
