    The Outreach and Education Coordinator will play an integral role in the Maryland Programs Department team by providing outreach, community engagement and leadership for programs that serve communities including Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County and across the State of Maryland. The Coordinator will build relationships with community organizations and key stakeholders and solicit support from GHHI's Communications Department and members of Maryland Programs to lead Outreach and Education to unprecedented levels of impact and effectiveness for families and seniors in Maryland.

    Outreach and Program Coordination

    • Responsible for all related outreach program grant and contract requirements including deliverables, reporting, data collection, and performance monitoring.
    • Oversee and be responsible for the creation and implementation of plans for all major outreach events including, but not limited to: Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, Healthy Homes Month and the annual Maryland Asthma Summit.
    • Develop annually an outreach and education strategic plan to establish goals and objectives.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with key external stakeholders including state agency officials, statewide partners, local health departments, health care partners, and local community organizations and leaders.
    • Responsible for annually developing new community and stakeholder partners to expand GHHI's networks and reach statewide.
    • Coordinate subcontractor contracts, manage goals and expectations, meet with essential staff on a quarterly basis, provide training and updated materials,
    • Plan and organize outreach events in specific target areas such as: Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
    • Recruit partners and conduct bi-monthly Maryland Partnership meetings.
    • Coordinate outreach and program staff to cover all outreach events, trainings and deliverables. Train and utilize external outreach event volunteers where applicable.
    • Conduct monthly internal outreach program meetings and report on deliverables and goals.
    • Participate in monthly Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and other state and local agency grant/contract meetings to report on progress on contract deliverables.
    • Organize, attend in-person and facilitate outreach events, trainings, presentations, webinars and advisory committee meetings with parents, agencies, partners and community-based organizations.
    • Prepare and maintain a GHHI Outreach Calendar of Events of all current and upcoming events and trainings that is shared monthly with GHHI Maryland Programs Department staff and Communications Department staff. Maintain an Events Calendar on GHHI website of key outreach events, webinars and trainings.
    • Maintain Outreach and Education Program standard operating procedures manual.
    • Oversee development and maintenance of the directory of all community partners and health organizations.
    • Other duties as assigned related to organizational mission and programs.
    Educational and Marketing Materials
    • Create new and updated marketing, outreach and training materials for Maryland Programs to include lead, asthma, healthy homes, energy and program marketing pamphlets, educational materials, flyers and newsletters.
    • Provide content for regular social media, Constant Contact and other postings.
    • Create and update Power Point presentations for training, webinars and presentations.
    • Draft quarterly blogs that highlight major outreach events, i.e. Lead Prevention Week, Asthma Month, Healthy Homes Month, etc.
    • Develop and implement, with the Communication Department, podcasts to increase the breadth of the outreach and education program.
    • Review and revise all outreach and education material, as necessary.
    • Review and revise rental property owner, contractor, homeowner, tenant and resident education materials.
    • Organize and inventory of all outreach collateral and materials on at least a monthly basis; oversee process for purchasing, development, monitoring and quality control.
    • Order outreach materials to maintain adequate supplies in advance of events and in adherence with all purchase ordering processes and internal controls.
    Community Engagement and Client Enrollment

    • Responsible for community engagement to reach partnering organizations and clients directly in at risk, target communities in Maryland as directed by GHHI contracts and grants as well as outreach goals and strategic plan.

    • Produce effective engagement that includes increasing awareness and results in measurable client applicants and enrollment of clients in GHHI, local and state health prevention, housing intervention and energy efficiency services programs.

    Data
    • Develop tracking methodology for all event attendees, which includes sign-in sheets and pre-intake data entry into Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) Database for reporting and referral to GHHI or other community programs and resources.
    • Assure proper data collection and ETO database data entry in adherence with program requirements for reporting and evaluation.
    • Collaborate with the Data and Evaluation Coordinator to restructure ETO Outreach data touchpoints for greater functionality, new program reporting and ease of reporting as needed.
    Qualifications:

    The successful applicant must possess:
    • Bachelors or advanced degree in Public Health, Communications/Marketing, Social Work, Health, or relevant field
    • 3+ years of experience in outreach and education working with diverse communities including low income communities of color
    • Cultural competency and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, clients and program partners of all demographic and professional levels
    • Experience in Environmental Health, Healthy Homes, Child Advocacy, or Public Health
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver information in a concise and understandable manner including strong presentation and training skills
    • Experience in grassroots advocacy and organizing efforts
    • Strong social media skills
    • Ability to work nights or weekends as required
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
    • Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit
    • Ability to competently handle and coordinate multiple projects and competing priorities
    • Willingness to travel for meetings and events
    • Valid driver license and reliable automobile with state required insurance for job duties including travel to in-person outreach events, presentations and meetings
    Preferred Skills:
    • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) in speaking, reading and writing
    Physical requirement:
    • Able to lift, bend, and stand/sit for long periods of time
    • Able to lift and carry 20 pounds
