    Description

    The Electronics Engineer is a key part of our engineering team and reports to the Director of Engineering. The ideal candidate will:

    • Provide design support and maintenance for existing power measuring instrumentation, as well as new product development
    • Use appropriate electrical analyses to evaluate design options and to ensure that design requirements will be met
    • Assist in the construction and testing of prototypes and qualification test units
    • Assist in the design of test fixtures used to verify products.

    Essential Functions

    • Develop hardware for power measuring instrumentation
    • Primary electronic support for existing products
    • Develop, maintain, and execute test verification plans
    • Develop and maintain test fixtures for verification of new and existing products
    • Work with schematic and PCB design software
    • Participate on a Research & Development (R&D) team to enhance current products and develop new products
    • Work independently to execute project plans and provide status
    • Work in a gated development process
    • Communicate with subcontractors as necessary
    • Work with Electronic Test Technicians on testing procedures and evaluate test results
    • Work with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-Meters (DMMs), spectrum analyzers, etc.
    • Collaborate with software and firmware engineers
    • Troubleshooting and communication with customers and sales team
    • Support board bring-up activities
    • Use engineering best-practices
    • Employees physical presence at the office work location is required the majority of the time to perform the essential job functions, tasks and responsibilities.
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
    • 1 or more years professional experience as an electrical or computer engineer. Opportunity for senior role based on years of experience for a qualified candidate.
    • Ability to work with software engineers to design and debug systems
    • Design and build of hardware electronic systems including packaging

    Experience with:

    • Circuit board design, implementation, integration, and test and validation
    • Writing embedded software drivers in C
    • Scripting languages
    • Writing design documents and test verification plans
    • Various circuit filtering techniques
    • TCP/IP and general networking

    Familiarity with:

    • Debugging embedded hardware using JTAG
    • CAD packages for schematic capture and PCB artwork design

    The following experience is a plus:

    • MODBUS protocol
    • BACnet protocol
