    As (Mechanical Engineer) you will be responsible for;Role - perform a variety of engineering work in designing, planning and testing of company-produced systems.

    May assist with customer and in-house training and project coordination. Engineering duties in designing and optimizing the mechanical structures and electro-mechanical components and functioning of bench-top sized petroleum analyzers.

    Design and develop new products according to the New Product Development process which will typically include, creation of specifications from market requirements; detailed design; detailed drawings and models; prototype development and test; liaison with internal departments, suppliers and customers; phased product release to production.

    Assist in selection and testing of electro-mechanical components including manufacturing methods. Research, analyze and conduct experiment on technical requirements to evaluate the feasibility and cost of applications. Produce accurate layouts and detail drawings/solid models, following all internal procedures, to relevant US/Canada and international standards. Project planning and project management with global visibility.

    Liaise with Purchasing / Manufacturing departments to ensure that the best possible costs are leveraged for prototype and production parts, and that all parts are fit for purpose.

    Ensure that all testing required to demonstrate that the product meets specification is performed and appropriately documented.

    Participate in, or manage any testing, either internal or external, as required, to ensure that all relevant tests are performed correctly and all resulting data is accurately recorded.

    To write, or manage external services to write, manuals or instruction sheets for products to include procedures, limitations of use, maintenance, spares, warnings, overviews and any other relevant or necessary information.

    Follow all defined internal quality procedures, and internal design standards.

    Ensure that designed products comply with all compulsory standards applicable to the product and country of sale Qualifications;University degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or equivalent Minimum of 5-7 years relevant previous design experience required.

    Working knowledge of database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software Proficient and proven experience in computer-aided design programs such as Solidworks or AutoCAD.


    Mathematical Skills:
    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

    Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlations techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

    Ability to perform engineering calculations using mathematical and software tools.

    Knowledge of, but not exclusive to, thermal management, fluid mechanics, mechatronic parts, force and stress analysis, refrigeration, machining, sheet metal and molding techniques is added asset.

    Aware of design principles for fast prototyping as well as manufacturability and serviceability. Excellent oral and written presentation skills in English. Experience in prototype design and machining would be an asset. ALTEN Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
