Essential Functions Reviews submitted grants and contracts, including budgets, of protocols for basic research studies with the assistance of the Law Department.

50%Coordinates with Research Finance and research department to ensure fiscally responsible negotiated non-complex lower value sponsor research budgets. 30%Assures the timely processing of administration of UHC protocols and grants. 10%Maintains accurate administrative records including database entries. 10%Required For All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications:

QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree RequiredWork Experience1+ years of experience in grant and contract administration involving research (masters degree or law/business experience will be considered in lieu of research administration experience).

Required andExperience in clinical trial research and budget construction PreferredKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent communication, writing and editing skills . RequiredWorking knowledge of applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. RequiredIndividual will be to learn Cost Accounting principles for grant administration in academic institutions (circulars A-110, A-21 and A-133).

RequiredGeneral PC skills and ability to organize and multi-task is a must RequiredLicenses and CertificationsCertification in Human Subjects Protection (CITI) RequiredAdditional Licenses and CertificationsWill train to become a Certified Contract Coordinator (CCC).
