What's In It For You:
The nurse will assure that each individual assigned to his/her caseload receives quality, individualized health care management resulting in optimal health. Health care will be provided to individuals in a manner, which is normalizing, sensitive to their needs and respectful of their dignity, while encouraging autonomy. The nurse level II functions as a health resource to staff and will, in conjunction with supervisors, assure that the home is in compliance with all licensure requirements and organizational policies regarding health issues, medical care and records.
Qualifications
Must hold a current, valid RN license to practice nursing in the state of New Mexico. Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and driving record, which allows candidate to be covered by agency insurance policy required.
Prior education and/or experience working with the developmentally disabled or other long-term care or home health care experience preferred. The individual must be mature, flexible, self-motivated, dependable and able to work cooperatively with individuals, staff, interdisciplinary team members and outside agencies.
Additional Information
This position requires the use of computer software applications. It is expected that by the end of the orientation period the employee will have achieved sufficient competency in these applications to satisfactorily perform all job duties as assessed by their supervisor. Required software applications for this position include, but are not limited to; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Therap and KRONOS.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT:
Unlimited driving position is defined as one that requires an employee to drive a motor vehicle as a part of his/her Dungarvin work, including vehicles owned or leased by Dungarvin, and/or to drive a vehicle in which a person served is transported.
Any employee in this position must comply with the requirements outlined in the POLICY AND PROCEDURE ON DRIVING AND THE USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES (A-8). All employees in this position must have a valid driver's license. An employee hired for a position that requires the employee to drive his/her own car is responsible for his/her own automobile insurance.
HOURS WORKED:
May be full or part-time as determined by need. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, day and early evening hours; however; the nurse needs to be flexible to accommodate individuals, staff and program needs.
