    Location: New York, NY (On-Site)

    Employment Type: Short-term (4-6 months with possibility of transitioning to full-time)

    Start Date: End of March / Early April 2026

    About the Role:

    Kallmeyer is seeking an experienced Design and Development Manager to be part of a small, high-performing team working at the intersection of creativity and organization. This short-term role (4-6 months) is integral to the development and execution of our collections and could potentially transition into a full-time position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee design and development from concept through production across all categories.
    • Manage seasonal development calendars, milestones, and deliverables to ensure tight deadlines are met. 
    • Review and comment on tech packs, samples, fittings, and revisions with a strong eye for luxury quality and construction. 
    • Serve as a primary point of contact with factories and raw material suppliers, ensuring clear communication of design intent, raw materials, construction details, and timelines. 
    • Collaborate effectively with the design and production teams and assist other team members as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • 4-8 years of experience in design and/or product development; luxury or contemporary womenswear experience strongly preferred. 
    • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
    • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, materials, and luxury finishing. 
    • Excellent communication and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines.
    • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a small team.
    • Strong proficiency Adobe Creative Cloud suite, tech packs, BOMs, and Zedonk or other production software.
    • Must be based in NYC and available to work full-time on site.

    • The company observes the following 6 paid holidays (New Year, New Year's Day (January 1st), Memorial Day (May), Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day (September), Thanksgiving Day (November), and Christmas (December 25th)  
    • Should the role transition into a full-time position, other benefits will be made available such as a clothing allowance at wholesale, two weeks PTO, you may join the company's 401(k) plan, and you may enroll in medical, dental, short- and long-term disability benefits. 
    • Monthly Rate $6,000-$7,000
