    Description
    Summary:
    • The Diesel Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing all on-road equipment.
    • This position will work within the company's trucking maintenance department.

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Perform basic preventative maintenance on all semi-trucks and trailers.
    • Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel and gas engines.
    • Diagnose and repair semi-trucks and trailers.
    • Repair, replace, recondition, dissemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
    • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
    • Brake adjustments on all equipment.
    • Tires change on all equipment.
    • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
    • Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
    • Communicate with drivers and customers in a professional manner.

    Qualifications:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Possess a valid Class A CDL.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience.
    • Must have own tools.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software.
    • Knowledge of after-treatment systems.

    Metalico is a leading full-service, broadly diversified scrap metal recycler, principally operating in the Northeastern United States. Our scrap operations source, buy, process, and sell four distinct groups of commodity metals for use in the manufacture of new products: We recycle scrap steel and iron, which is sold primarily to domestic mills and foundries. We recycle non-ferrous metals, principally aluminum, copper, lead, and nickel-based steel and high-temperature alloys. These products are sold to domestic manufacturers and, to a lesser extent, to the export markets. Metalico today employs 600 people in 27 operating locations across 6 states. Metalico is headquartered in Cranford, New Jersey.
