This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the campus grounds to provide a safe and appealing environment for everyone.

Purpose:

This position involves maintaining the College grounds to ensure they are safe, functional, and visually pleasing. It also includes basic groundskeeping tasks and other assignments as needed.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or G. E. D.
Demonstrated positive work performance in previous roles.
Six months of groundskeeping or landscaping experience.
Knowledge of groundskeeping practices and tools.
Ability to work under various weather conditions.
Michigan Driver's license and Chauffeurs license.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Certification for Forklift and Boom lift required within one year.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Two or more years of groundskeeping/landscaping experience.
Certifications in pesticide and herbicide application.
Master Gardener certification.
Experience with heavy equipment and irrigation systems.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Physical fitness for various tasks such as lifting, bending, and operating equipment.
- Skills in driving different types of vehicles.
- Experience working at heights and handling chemicals.
Unique Aspects of Job:
- Physical activities required for grounds work.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
Work Schedule: Tuesday - Friday (2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Full-time role with potential for overtime.
