    The Goodreads Revenue team mission is to monetize the Goodreads audience, this includes selling and delivering relevant, high quality ads to our readers in order to drive the best results for our advertisers and for Goodreads, affiliate revenue for book sales, and new monetization opportunities.

    As a leader of the Revenue team, this manager will be responsible for coaching and developing their team while helping with prioritization of the right deliverables for our customers across ad sales, account management, revenue operations, product and engineering.

    At Goodreads, the Head of Monetization works closely with their team of Account Executives, Account Managers, and Program Managers to exceed revenue goals while delighting our advertising customers.

    This manager will also partner with several cross-functional partners to define and execute strategies to drive growth of our broader monetization strategy at scale.

    This manager will collaborate with Amazon Advertising teams that share customers with the Goodreads Revenue team to deliver better solutions for our customers while driving organizational efficiencies for the business.


    The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguous environments and will take ownership of identifying and solving problems for the team and customers.

    They will use data to inform their decisions and establish mechanisms to help the Revenue team scale.

    Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a business owner who understands the key levers to drive business growth and can operationalize those levers across their team.

    They have a passion for people leadership and are at their best when they're building, developing and managing high-performing teams.

    Key job responsibilities

    Business Growth:

    • Manage and deliver against goals where strategy is not defined and make tradeoffs between short term customer needs and long term strategic investment.
    • Identify and scale business opportunities while defining team tools, resources and standard operating processes (SOPs).
    • Implement and track benchmark metrics to record the success and quality of team's performance. Leverage and improve regular reviews of business, performance, and operational metrics. Use these metrics to guide work and uncover hidden areas of opportunity.

    Relationship Management and Leadership:

    • Influence and partner with Goodreads and Amazon teams with shared advertiser or customer populations to deliver against programs, products or services
    • Drive detailed discussions and high-level alignment with key stakeholders utilizing clear and concise verbal and written communication
    • Present decisions to senior leaders and communicate across a diverse set of stakeholders
    • Effectively hire, manage performance, coach, and promote direct reports

    Process Excellence:

    • Use customer feedback, market growth trends, Amazon core capabilities, and analyze key metrics to contribute to strategic development of processes and tools that accelerate revenue growth and improve customer experience and operational scale. Spot areas of unnecessary process or inefficiencies and work to simplify.
    • Establish benchmarks and help your team establish and regularly review business, performance, and operational metrics.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers
    • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
    • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
    • Experience in digital advertising and client facing roles with a focus on data analysis
    • 6+ years' of relevant experience excluding internships
    • 2+ years' of people management experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of digital advertising or search advertising or analytics solutions (e.g. Google Analytics)
    • Experience with annual brand and media planning
    • Passion for reading and knowledge of the book publishing industry

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $112,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $208,800/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    Amazon is a total compensation company.

    Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
