    Description

    Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, prioritize tasks effectively, and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Patient Care: Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency setting, evaluating outcomes and adjusting nursing care processes as needed.
    • Triage: Use triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients, accurately assigning triage categories.
    • Assessment and Reassessment: Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
    • Pain Management: Assess and manage pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain management techniques.
    • Cardiac Monitoring: Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifying dysrhythmias and treating appropriately.
    • Maintenance of Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation, including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
    • Safety and Quality: Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality, prioritizing patient safety and reducing the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
    • Clinical Expertise: Apply clinical expertise to make sound judgments and decisions, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status or response to treatment.

    Professional Requirements:

    • Appearance and Attire: Meet dress code standards for the department, maintaining a neat and clean appearance.
    • Education and Training: Complete all mandatory education within given timeframe and maintain regulatory requirements.
    • Communication: Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner, communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
    • Quality Improvement: Actively participate in the department's quality improvement activities, promoting continuous quality improvement and excellence in patient care.

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Nursing Degree: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • License: Current RN license within the state of practice.
    • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications required within specified timeframes.
