Leading tier I automotive supplier is seeking a Quality Engineer to work in one of their production areas. As the Quality Engineer, you will report to a Quality Manager and will work closely with process engineers and production. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks in a specific area of the plant:
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of their day, conducting quality line support and overseeing projects. You will be on the manufacturing floor daily communicating with the production staff and working with your team to continuously improve quality initiatives. Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with all levels of the company to improve quality standards and being creative in the root cause analysis and corrective action process. REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Engineer:
1. Bachelors degree in a technical related field with a manufacturing co-op and/or internship OR a high school diploma with at least 1-2 years of related manufacturing quality experience
2. Experience working in fast-paced, mass production environments
3. Experience with RCA
4. The desire to develop as a Quality Engineer
4. Microsoft Excel experience related to charts, graphs and formulas
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Customer communication
2. Machining and/or assembly experience
3. 5P or 8D problem solving
4. Experience creating control plans and FMEAs
5. Automotive supplier experience
6. PPAP documentation
7. Corrective actions
8. Formal problem solving and internal audits
