Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.


Reports to:
Market Practice Manager

Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Drag Edit DeletePerforms basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
Drag Edit DeleteMaintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Drag Edit DeletePerforms administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer skills required.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from an American Heart Association Training Center required within 90 days of hire, if not current upon hireDrag Edit Delete

Licensure:
Must be registered or certified as Medical Assistant through one of the following organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

New Hires or new position transfers that are not certified upon start in position have 6 months from start date in position to obtain one of the above listed credentials.
