    This exciting position utilizes current nursing practices to provide patient care while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect, and cooperation. As a contributing member of a healthcare team, functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patient-related issues. This role provides triage service to support Loyola's largest Primary Care Clinic. Hours are 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday.
    • Utilizes current nursing practices to provide patient care while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect, and cooperation.
    • Functions as a patient advocate by being the initial contact for patient-related issues.
    • Administers medications and performs/order treatments and testing as prescribed by the physician.
    • Documents patient's physical and emotional status and adds to plan of care as needed.
    • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families for efficient patient care.
    • Champion for patient safety by continually observing and monitoring the clinical environment.
    • Communicates effectively to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Assists with the oversight of clinical staff and serves as a mentor for new staff.
    • Ensures site preparedness and compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Handles nurse-directed telephone calls from patients.
    • Demonstrates accountability for professional growth and job performance.
    Bachelor's Degree
    Specify Degree(s): Nursing
    Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
    Nursing - Current Registered Nurse license State of Illinois
    Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing is preferred.
