We currently serve more than 1 million client employees across the U.S and abroad with integrated employee health management solutions that include Incident InterventionTM 24/7 telephonic injury triage and return-to-work follow-up; On-site Services; Medical Exams & Travel program management; Consulting Occupational Physicians; Leave & Disability Clinical Support; and preventive interventions including wellness education, industrial athlete/athletic trainer programs, industrial massage and bio-ergonomic assessments.

We are currently looking for a Full Time Medical Assistant to join our client site in Troy, Ohio.

Monday - Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM with flexibility to cover either the 2nd or 3rd shifts.

Responsibilities

Maintaining confidentiality by following HIPAA requirements
Following Site Safety guidelines, policies and procedures for self, visitors and employees
Complying with governmental regulations and WorkCare policies regarding health and safety
Assist with clinical procedures and physical examinations (if applicable) such as Pre-placement, DOT, FAA, Respiratory Evaluations, and Fitness for Duty
Perform diagnostic testing such as vital signs, EKG, audiogram, pulmonary function test, vision acuity, and respirator fit testing
Perform Wellness Testing (body fat, aerobic capacity assessment, upper body strength, etc.) and counseling (diet, exercise, tobacco cessation, etc.)
Perform laboratory duties such as phlebotomy, urinalysis, cholesterol, and blood glucose testing, and immunization
Administer first-aid and supervised medical treatment such as suture removal, ear/eye irrigation, apply splint and dressing as directed by nurse
Calibrates medical equipment at appropriate interval
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and clinic
Performs clinic front-office work
MA is responsible for ordering and maintaining medical & office supplies
Forwards invoices and forward to WorkCare or Workers' Comp Carrier after being reviewed and approved by nurse
Assist in managing worker's comp case management program

Qualifications

Knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired through an accredited Medical Assistant education program, including basic knowledge of medical terminology and reporting, to perform office and clinical duties
Occupational health experience preferred. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent acceptable with at least 2 years of directly applicable experience
Certification to or ability and willingness to become certified to perform supportive medical services (e.g., administer medication, audiogram, spirometry; apply and remove bandages; apply orthopedic devices; select, adjust and instruct re crutch or cane use, remove sutures, perform ear lavage, collect lab specimens, etc.)
Certification in phlebotomy preferred
Willingness and ability to obtain HIPAA certification upon hire
Consistently excellent patient relations skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality of information concerning patients
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; effective interaction with a wide variety of personnel who hold varying roles and have varying responsibilities
Proficiency with computers using the Microsoft Office suite of applications for creation as well as modification, how to access and use the Internet and an e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook
Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to ask questions of and/or seek information from the supervisor and other team members so that tasks can be completed correctly
Strong self-motivation; proactive, high-energy, enthusiastic, "can do" work ethic; and ability to handle potentially stressful situations and tolerance for ambiguity
Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance
Valid Ohio Driver's License
Maintain CMA and BLS certification requirements
