- Maintaining confidentiality by following HIPAA requirements
- Following Site Safety guidelines, policies and procedures for self, visitors and employees
- Complying with governmental regulations and WorkCare policies regarding health and safety
- Assist with clinical procedures and physical examinations (if applicable) such as Pre-placement, DOT, FAA, Respiratory Evaluations, and Fitness for Duty
- Perform diagnostic testing such as vital signs, EKG, audiogram, pulmonary function test, vision acuity, and respirator fit testing
- Perform Wellness Testing (body fat, aerobic capacity assessment, upper body strength, etc.) and counseling (diet, exercise, tobacco cessation, etc.)
- Perform laboratory duties such as phlebotomy, urinalysis, cholesterol, and blood glucose testing, and immunization
- Administer first-aid and supervised medical treatment such as suture removal, ear/eye irrigation, apply splint and dressing as directed by nurse
- Calibrates medical equipment at appropriate interval
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and clinic
- Performs clinic front-office work
- MA is responsible for ordering and maintaining medical & office supplies
- Forwards invoices and forward to WorkCare or Workers' Comp Carrier after being reviewed and approved by nurse
- Assist in managing worker's comp case management program
- Knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired through an accredited Medical Assistant education program, including basic knowledge of medical terminology and reporting, to perform office and clinical duties
- Occupational health experience preferred. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent acceptable with at least 2 years of directly applicable experience
- Certification to or ability and willingness to become certified to perform supportive medical services (e.g., administer medication, audiogram, spirometry; apply and remove bandages; apply orthopedic devices; select, adjust and instruct re crutch or cane use, remove sutures, perform ear lavage, collect lab specimens, etc.)
- Certification in phlebotomy preferred
- Willingness and ability to obtain HIPAA certification upon hire
- Consistently excellent patient relations skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality of information concerning patients
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; effective interaction with a wide variety of personnel who hold varying roles and have varying responsibilities
- Proficiency with computers using the Microsoft Office suite of applications for creation as well as modification, how to access and use the Internet and an e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to ask questions of and/or seek information from the supervisor and other team members so that tasks can be completed correctly
- Strong self-motivation; proactive, high-energy, enthusiastic, "can do" work ethic; and ability to handle potentially stressful situations and tolerance for ambiguity
- Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Maintain CMA and BLS certification requirements

We are currently looking for a Full Time Medical Assistant to join our client site in Troy, Ohio.
Monday - Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM with flexibility to cover either the 2nd or 3rd shifts.
