    Randstad Federal is seeking a Web Developer in support of a federal program at NASA

    location:
    Moffett Field, California

    responsibilities:

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Developing new user-facing features and functionality
    Implementing visual elements and user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    Ensuring websites and applications meet NASA standards for accessibility, security, and reliability
    Collaborating with back-end developers, designers, and stakeholders to achieve web project goals
    Maintaining and improving existing websites and applications
    Day-to-day operations within the Tools Group and assigned projects
    Work on complex projects to integrate new tools and features into legacy web applications
    Build/maintain automated deployments through the use of configuration management
    Support and maintain websites and web applications provided the by Tools Team
    Deploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the production environment
    Proactively monitor, analyze, and correct application and website issues
    Developing scripts to automate repetitive tasks or tools to enhance support
    Application performance analysis and tuning

    Participate in and/or Lead Project Planning meetings while providing guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs.

    Requirements:
    Bachelor degree in computer science or related field with demonstrated experience
    A minimum of 5 years of development experience in project team environments
    strong background in using Linux systems
    Demonstrated proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
    Understanding of responsive design and standards-based design
    Knowledge of browser testing and debugging
    Experience creating prototypes, mockups, and technical documentation
    Experience preparing images and video for delivery on websites
    Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries like React, Vue, jQuery, D3
    Familiarity with source control tools like git
    Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work, and ability to multitask
    Good communication skills and can communicate effectively with staff, customers, and managers
    strong work habits and the ability to work independently as well as within a group setting
    Ability to effectively manage and lead moderately complex projects
    US citizenship is required for a NASA Public Trust Clearance

    Preferred Skills:
    Experience working with Apache and/or NGINX web servers
    Experience improving accessibility of existing websites
    Experience developing and maintaining Javascript front-end applications
    Experience with PHP and backend frameworks such as Django or Flask
    Experience with Perl and porting to modern frameworks
    Experience with Ruby on Rails (ROR) web framework
    Able to use source control tools and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, etc.) and methods
    Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
