- Conduct assessments to determine students' orientation and mobility needs.
- Design and implement individualized instruction plans.
- Teach safe and effective travel skills, including cane techniques, spatial orientation, and route planning.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Provide training in the use of assistive technology and devices as needed.
- Document and report on student progress and outcomes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Orientation & Mobility or a related field.
- Certification in Orientation & Mobility (e.g., ACVREP or NBPCB).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with individuals with visual impairments, especially in an educational setting, is preferred.
