- Review Project Specifications: Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements and scope.
- Perform Quantity Take-offs: Measure and quantify materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects or manufacturing processes.
- Solicit Quotes: Reach out to suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information for materials, equipment, and services required for the project.
- Prepare Cost Estimates: Utilize estimating software and tools to compile and organize cost data, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses, to generate accurate project cost estimates.
- Assist in Bid Preparation: Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to prepare comprehensive bid proposals for potential projects.
- Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of all project estimates, including assumptions, qualifications, and any other relevant information.
- Support Project Teams: Provide ongoing support to project teams by assisting in value engineering exercises, cost analysis, and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction and roofing processes.
- Previous experience in construction estimating or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong computer skills and experience with web-based applications.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
