    Opportunity summary:

    As a Safety Manager you will be responsible for allactivities related to occupational safety and health in the facility you arealigned to and you will ensure compliance with federal, state, and localrequirements and laws to prevent hazards and injuries.

    As a SafetyManager you will manage and develop safety programs to educate supervisors andmanagers and to prevent hazards, risks, and injuries.

    How you will impactWestRockDevelop and maintain safety education training program withinthe plant environmentMaintain and update existing safety procedures, standardoperating procedures, and policiesPartner with manufacturing managers to review and improvesafety practices and ensure adoption by employeesEnsure compliance with safety policies, regulations, andreporting in manufacturingPerform hazardous risk assessments for tasks or jobs toidentify potential hazards and develop risk prevention plans to mitigate themReview and analyze accident/injury reports and data foraccuracy and detail, ensuring corrective actions are takenPartner with workers compensation and general liabilityinsurance representatives to ensure compliance with policy requirementsAssist in administration of safety incentive program,including assessing participation, monitoring engagement, reviewing all data,and ensuring incentives are paidManage compliance for environmental regulations (e.g. airpermits, water runoff)

    Model and promote an organizational culture that fosters safepractices through effective leadership and trainingWhat you need tosucceed:
    High School diploma or G.E.D.Must have 2+ years of safety supervisory role in a safetyprogramDemonstrate strong communication and interpersonalskills to engage and inspire others to comply with safety policies andstandardsThorough knowledge of safety standards and methodologiesProven track record of critical thinking and problem-solvingInspire others to develop themselves and seek out continuouslearning opportunities by serving as a role model and seeking out personaldevelopmental opportunitiesDemonstrate thorough knowledge of safety regulations,including OSHA, ANSI, and NFPAGovernment or professional training and compliance courses(e.g. OSHA 30-hour training) are preferredAbout WestRock (
