    Position Summary:

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have Python/Django and Java background whose responsibilities include analysis, design, development, testing, data staging, and implementation activities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

    Essential Job Functions:

  • Knowledge and working Experience using both Python and related Django framework.
  • Experience developing web-based applications and services using Java EE, JavaScript, REST, JPA Hibernate), HTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, jQuery
  • Experience with relational databases management systems such as PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server (writing SQL/T-SQL, Stored Procedure, triggers)
  • Solid knowledge of the principles of object-oriented programming
  • Experience with Source Control Management systems, such as GitLab/Git and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Understanding of Unit Testing and associated frameworks JUnit)

    • Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • ​US Citizenship or legal permanent resident.
  • Must be able to obtain and sustain a Public Trust clearance after employment.

    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with continuous integration software build schemes: OpenShift, Docker, Jenkins, Linux Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)
  • Experience with Web Servers JBoss, IBM WebSphere)
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver high-quality products and customer services
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with peers in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to multitask within tight deadlines; self-directed and results/goal oriented
  • Personal drive to investigate new technologies and ability to articulate concepts and designs

    • Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Microservices, React, and Azure DevOps
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or related cloud certifications
