Description

Apex Systems is seeking an IT Security Engineer for a position in Charlotte, NC or Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will have experience with IPS, IDS, Firewalls, and SOC background. This position will sit on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/2 remote) in the locations above. If interested, please apply within.

Summary:

Position:IT Security Engineer

Location:Charlotte, NC or Phoenix, AZ

Contract Length:6 months with potential to extend

Requirements:

2+ years of experience with YARA and RegEx

1+ year of SOC experience

1+ year of experience with detection engineering

Experience with YARA-L and Google Chronicle highly preferred

Description:

Responsibilities:

Lead or actively participate in responding to computer security incidents, focusing on events of moderate complexity.
Conduct thorough technical investigations of security incidents and perform post-incident digital forensics to pinpoint causes and propose future mitigation strategies.
Provide expert security guidance on medium-scale projects for internal clients, ensuring alignment with corporate information security policies and standards.
Develop, document, test, and maintain moderately complex security solutions across various domains including networking, cryptography, cloud services, authentication, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security.
Review and analyze security logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Implement industry-leading security solutions and best practices to address key information security components such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity.
Assess security vulnerabilities and risks, and propose appropriate remediation strategies.
Collaborate closely with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve security issues and achieve organizational security goals.

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering, demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
