    Summary

    The Medical Imaging Receptionist works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor in conjunction with the Radiology Manager. Answers incoming calls, takes accurate messages, and exhibits excellent customer service communication skills. The Receptionist consults Radiologists, Technologists, or Management as needed. Works well in a high volume area while performing multi-tasks. Is proficient and possesses knowledge of all computer applications relating to Radiology functions. Must be able to perform all secretarial/typing tasks as required. Is flexible with schedule to meet the operations needed for Radiology. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Essential Functions


    Serves as department receptionist welcoming the patient/client and other customers by offering service and assistance in a pleasant and professional manner.

    Communicates effectively with the Radiology staff and all of its customers to get tasks accomplished in a timely manner. Reports to superior all discrepancies in the work environment. Competently operates the phone system. Courteously answers the phone promptly, identifying self and refers calls to the proper place/person. Messages are clear and accurate.

    Utilize PACS system for retrieval of patient exams and reports, makes CD, films of images or electronic transmission per patient and physician requests.

    Contact of outside facilities for previous Mammography films. Perform other clerical duties in relation to digital and film images. Maintains confidentiality of litigation files and routes files in litigation to a secure area. Give reports by phone or facsimile to doctor's offices, floors, and other departments. Retrieve digital reports and send to proper locations. Accurately handle incoming/outgoing mail according to department policy.
    Maintains level of office supplies and retrieves supplies as needed to ensure adequate flow of operations throughout department. Routes any service calls to appropriate area. Possesses knowledge of all PC equipment and maintains the equipment for proper functioning. Proficiently operate all office equipment to include accurately loading forms, paper, ribbons, and ink cartridges in printers. Stocks work area with clerical supplies as needed. Maintains cleanliness and neatness of work area.
    Adheres to work schedule, and schedules PTO time off in accordance to departmental policy. Attends departmental staff meetings and in-services as required. Adheres to all - established CareTIME / HR policies.
    Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department. Maintains ethical relationships. Assist others in the department, requests assistance when necessary and demonstrates a team approach to patient care. Assist in developing the skills of students, trainees, or residents.

    Requirements

    Education:
    Minimum High School Diploma or GED


    Licensure/Certifications:
    BLS American Heart Association.
