    Duties

    The California-Nevada Fish Health Center (FHC) Project Leader oversees a team of professionals and technicians, managing fish health diagnostics, research, and treatments across multiple facilities in CA, NV, and southern OR. The FHC also conducts pathogen surveys along the Feather and Klamath Rivers.

    As the California-Nevada Fish Health Center Project Leader, you will:

    • Supervise a team of staff members, including biologists, technicians, and maintenance personnel
    • Manage daily operations, facility maintenance, and budget implementation
    • Seek external funding for research initiatives
    • Represent the Center at various meetings and scientific events
    • Prepare written materials for internal and external purposes

    Requirements

    Conditions of Employment

    • Possession of a valid State driver's license
    • Compliance with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service uniform policy
    • Completion of probationary periods

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirement:

    • Degree in biological science with specific coursework in aquatic and animal subjects
    • Combination of education and experience in biological science
    • Minimum Qualification [GS-13]:

      • One year of specialized experience at or above GS-12 level
      • Education

        Only experience and education up to 06/03/2024 will be considered for this position.
