    IT Coalition is seeking an experienced Systems/Network Engineer to support the organizational goals of the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE)
    A qualified candidate must possess the ability to handle day-to-day operations for a research-oriented environment
    A successful candidate must be innovative, self-motivated, passionate about solving problems, have a demonstrated history of on-time product delivery and able to develop and maintain relationship with team members and stakeholders
    The Systems/Network Engineer is a direct report to ITC Federal ' s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) IT Operations Manager and is responsible for performing general systems engineering tasks
    The Systems etwork Engineer works to ensure uptime, reliability, and customer satisfaction of Linux and Windows servers, as well as the network
    Established in 2012 through a partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, the (NCCoE) is dedicated to furthering innovation through the rapid identification, integration and adoption of practical Cybersecurity solutions
    The NCCoE is part of the NIST Information Technology Laboratory and operates in close collaboration with the Computer Security Division
    Responsibilities


    • Linux and Windows security patching and configuration management
    • Remediating security findings from routine Nessus scans
    • Handle SSL certificate renewal for systems the candidate is responsible for, as well as for a few of the customer's certificates.
    • Operational support for Network Environment within the center, including diagnosing and repairing network problems, configuring network security protocols, and maintaining network management programs.
    • Basic helpdesk/user support including occasionally helping users with desktop setups, providing peripherals to users, adding user's workstations to the facility's secured wifi networks etc.
    • New user provisioning ; assist new users via the phone with retrieving their credentials, RSA token, and VPN software download and initial configuration
    Qualifications


    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering / Computer Science
    • Strong understanding of Operating System architecture, both Windows and Linux (minimum of 5+ years of experience)
    • Experience with source control, CI and build tools - Git (Github/Gitlab), Wiki
    • Network administration, engineering and troubleshooting in a virtual and physical environment (Cisco and Palo Alto Network Equipment)
    • Understanding of automated deployments and different deployment strategies
    • Basic VMWare experience; vCenter knowledge
    • Network certifications, desired
    • RedHat Certification, desired
    • Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCSA, MCSE), desired

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Candidate must be able to function in general office environment
