    Job Description:

    The Tony-award winning UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, a professional theater company in residence at Southern Utah University, is accepting applications for Production Staff for the 2024 season. The Utah Shakespeare Festival produces a seven-show repertory season and three Green Shows across four venues in the summer/fall of each year. Position details below.

    Contract dates vary by position.

    Most build contracts begin April/May and end June/July. Run contracts Begin in May/June and end September/October. Please check dates in specific job descriptions.

    Lighting Technician: Contracts begin early/late May and end early July with run positions extending as late as mid-October.

    FOH Audio Technician: Contracts begin early/late May and end early September with some extending as late as mid-October.

    Audio Technician: Contracts begin early/late May and end early July with some extending as late as mid-October.

    Video Technician: Contracts begin early/late May and end mid-October.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lighting Technician:

    1. Responsible for the execution of lighting on a daily basis for all assigned productions.
    2. Operates lighting consoles and/or followspot during rehearsals and performances.

    FOH Audio Technician:

    1. Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances.
    2. Duties may include live mixing of actors and/or orchestra.
    3. Also responsible for setup, maintenance of backstage, intercom, audio and video monitors.

    Audio Technician:

    1. Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances.

    Video Technician:

    1. The position works in conjunction with the other Electrics team members and designer for set up, installing, testing and use of video equipment.
    2. Candidates would have the ability to quickly and logically troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    Lighting Technician:

    1. Working knowledge of LED, moving lights, EOS family and DMX over Ethernet.
    2. OSC experience is preferred.

    FOH Audio Technician:

    1. Working knowledge of various equipment typical of a modern sound system including various wireless & wired equipment, AoIP including Dante protocol, and frequency coordination.
    2. Proficient with Windows and Mac OS, networking, managed switches and WiFi access points.
    3. OSC experience is preferred.
    4. Recording experience is a plus.

    Audio Technician:

    1. Working knowledge of various equipment typical of a modern sound system including various wireless & wired equipment and AoIP.
    2. OSC experience is preferred.
    3. Recording experience is a plus.

    Video Technician:

    1. Working knowledge of terminating Cat6 and coaxial cable with a variety of connectors; infrastructure cabling; reading and understanding video, lighting, and sound plots; HDMI and SDI over Ethernet.
    2. Proficient with Windows and Mac OS, networking, managed switches and WiFi access points, working with 120V and 208V power, basic maintenance and calibration of projectors.
    3. Media server, OSC PJLink and Telnet experience is preferred.
