    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) to fill a travel nurse position in Hartford, Connecticut.

    Job Summary

    The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and possess advanced clinical expertise in circulating for cardiothoracic surgical procedures and other complex surgeries.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs before, during, and after surgical procedures.
    • Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
    • Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, and monitor vital signs.
    • Assist physicians during procedures.
    • Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
    • Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning equipment and supplies.
    • Ensure proper handling of specimens.

    Requirements

    Candidates must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. They should also be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.

    Candidates must possess good coping skills for dealing with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

    Essential Certifications

    ACLS, BLS, 2 Years

    Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
