    Description
    The SEC/Ultragroup Nurse, under the supervision of the department of nursing, bears responsibility and accountability for the nursing care. Inherent in the practice is the nursing process; the assessment of the patient status, the plan of nursing actions, the implementation of that plan, and the evaluation of the plan. The registered nurse assesses, and monitors clients' health status and physical care needed at admission and while clients are in the program. The registered nurse performs comprehensive assessments, takes off physician's orders, monitors- reconciles medications and provides health education for clients and families as needed or requested. They function as a member of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Team and perform administrative, clerical, and other tasks according to program policy. They demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of performance.

    Schedule: Monday-Friday Hours: 7:30 am-4:00 pm

    Requirements:
    • Graduate of an accredited College of Nursing, with an Associate or Bachelor's degree.
    • Current State RN Licensure.
    • Certification in gerontological or psychiatric nursing desirable.
    • Acute-care clinical and/or psychiatric nursing experience required.
    • CPR Certification.
    • First Aid Certification.
    • Microsoft knowledge/Computer proficiency.
    • Good knowledge of medical terminology
    • Use of correct terminology, spelling, and grammar in documentation.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

    Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and behaviors appropriate to the populations (s) served, and meets specific criteria and/or specific considerations, as follows:
    • Ability to assess and interpret age specific data.
    • Possesses skills and knowledge to perform treatments and administer medications.
    • Demonstrates age specific communication skills in care of patients.
    SKILLS:
    • Basic nursing skills needed to function on a geriatric behavioral health unit.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of medication / Psychotropic medication.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The employee will be required to perform the following physical activities in the performance of their job duties:
    • Sitting/Standing/Walking/Bending Ove/Kneeling/Crouching/Stooping/Balancing
    • Pushing or Pulling/ Twisting/Reaching Above Shoulder Level/Reaching Forward & Low
    • Fine Finger Dexterity/Lifting or carrying (up to 25-lbs regularly)
    • Ability to hear ordinary conversation is required/Vision-Close and Distance-Color and Peripheral
    Employee may be exposed to patients with:
    • Infections and communicable diseases.
    • Aggressive behaviors
