Position Summary

The Eligibility Verification Specialist will oversee the Eligibility process for new patients referred for treatment with BHS


These duties include:

• Validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer system
• Verify insurance eligibility for services provided and document complete information in system
• Performing prior authorizations as required by payor source, including procurement of needed documentation by collaborating with physician offices and insurance companies
• Contacting all insurance carriers per patient, to insure proper coordination and reimbursement of benefits
• Other administrative duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Experience in healthcare / medical settings
• Experience with billing preferred
• Highly organized and attentive to detail
• Experience with eligibility verification (Medicaid/Medicare and other insurances portals)
• Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
• Proficient in MS-Excel
• Ability to work independently
