    Per Diem PACU RN Job Description

    The position facilitates optimal patient care by providing nursing services to surgeons in the Orthopedic Surgery Center ensuring patient comfort and safety while in the PACU.


    • Delivers post-operative care to patients with overall responsibility of Phase I and II recovery - prepares and educates patient for eventual discharge.

    • Establishes environment of safety for surgical patient; assesses diagnoses implements evaluates treatments procedures contributing physiological stability.

    • Maintains infection control standards throughout Orthopedic Surgery Center.

    Responsibilities:


    • Consistently performs hand hygiene practices preventing infection;

    • Assesses patients' condition after surgery records findings reports any changes;

    • Educates both patients families on procedures medications through initiated education programs;
