    Job Description

    Electrical Equipment Specialist:

    Analyze and correct electrical problems, repair, and overhaul electrical equipment and controls. Install, modify and maintain electrical, production manufacturing, and other plant equipment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze existing processes to identify automation opportunities.
    • Design and implement automated systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Provide training and documentation for end-users on automated processes or changes to existing processes.
    • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, drawings, and programs for electrical and electronic devices and PLC systems.
    • Apply in-depth knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and equipment operation.
    • Troubleshoot equipment failures independently or as part of a team.
    • Perform electrical maintenance work, including climbing, rigging, and exposure to heat and chemicals.
    • Utilize specialized equipment such as harnesses, SCBA, respirators, dust masks, and personal protective clothing.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Contribute to the Maintenance Team's efforts.
    • Develop and implement team concepts, programs, and policies.
    • Coordinate work to ensure best practices among team members.
    • Attend relevant team meetings.
    • Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and address them with the team leader.
    • Promote synergy within the organization.
    • Support business objectives by performing other duties as necessary.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Alternatively, a trade school certificate with 3+ years of experience in process automation, software development, or systems engineering.
    • Experience with cloud-based automation solutions is an asset.
    • Familiarity with PLC software platforms such as RS Logix 500/5000, Simatic Step 7/TIA Portal, Machine Expert Basic, GXWorks2, Direct Logic PLC Software, CodeSYS, or similar environments.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial electronics.
    • Proficiency in 480 3-phase electrical systems, power distribution, and control equipment.
    • Willingness to collaborate with mechanical maintenance team members.
