- Deal with intricate, less structured issues
- Act as a valuable resource for others
- Support the Optum Behavioral Health provider network business unit, including handling provider disputes
- Collaborate with internal business units and network providers
- Provide legal guidance to internal clients
- Coordinate network matters with the Compliance, Privacy, and Regulatory legal teams
- Establish efficient and innovative contracting procedures, including Value-Based Contracting
- Constantly improve provider agreement templates, adjusting them based on business and regulatory requirements
- Offer advice on and oversee the regulatory filing of provider network agreement templates
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
- Over 5 years of experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts
- Experience collaborating across various business and legal environments
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- An understanding of business challenges related to assigned legal projects
- Background in healthcare
- Experience in Behavioral Health
- Experience advising companies in negotiating and drafting complex professional services agreements in the healthcare sector
- Exposure to/experience with data privacy concerns

You will have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S., taking on challenging tasks along the way.
Roles in this position involve providing legal guidance and services on matters related to the rights, obligations, and privileges of the organization, ensuring the organization's rights are safeguarded during contract negotiations, settlements, and legal disputes. As part of this role, you will offer a wide range of legal advice and services, specializing in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, commercial law, contracts law, benefit law, securities, anti-trust investigations, tax law, regulatory and compliance. This position involves self-directed work and offers the opportunity for specialization in legal areas. A J.D. is required for this role.
