(CCAT) is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join us as a Senior Manufacturing Applications Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the world of advanced manufacturing while working with state-of-the-art technologies.

    As a key member of our team, you'll work under the supervision of the Principal Engineer in the Advanced Design, Automation, and Metrology (ADAM) lab. Your role will involve applying manufacturing software tools and machinery to educate, validate, and support the implementation of new digital thread technologies.

    CCAT, established in 2004, is a non-stock, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to advancing technology and providing essential workforce training. As a leader in applied technology, we collaborate with governmental agencies such as DOD, DOE, NASA, SBA, and USDOC, focusing on areas like multi-material additive manufacturing, composites, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Develop model-based definition files from existing CAD models and drawings.
    • Implement capabilities of various manufacturing software and technologies.
    • Demonstrate CNC program execution on 3 and 5-axis machining centers.
    • Develop creative part-fixturing methods to enhance CNC machining processes.
    • Support the development of automated inspection workflows using model-based definition.
    • Identify and implement collaborative design opportunities with cross-industry partners.
    • Conduct outreach to regional manufacturing companies to implement advanced technologies and digital workflows.
    • Represents CCAT at workshops, events and tours and may contribute with patent applications, proposal writing and journal articles.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Graduate degree preferred. Position-related experience may offset degree requirements.
    • Experience: 8-10 years' experience or equivalent.
    • Skills: Strong knowledge of Model-Based Definition, CNC programming, and 3 or 5-axis Machine operation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical writing. ITAR citizenship requirements.

    Preferred, but not required:

    • Working knowledge of inspection systems, Siemens Teamcenter, Solidworks PDM, additive technologies, robotic programming, extended reality technologies such as Hololens, and automation experience
