    JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager

    Walnut Industries is a leading manufacturer of patented cargo securement technologies used in over the road, rail, and ocean shipping. Walnut has a long history of market leading innovations in this space and is growing rapidly with its two primary products, Ty-Gard and Shock-Gard.

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Human Resources Manager is responsible for ensuring the execution and implementation of HR processes and activities including (but not limited to) full cycle recruiting, employee relations, compensation administration, benefits administration, workforce development, and employee services for the Company.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administer, implement, and manage HR policies and programs related to the development and administration of company-wide human resources policies and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and state and federal legal requirements.
    • Assists in the recruiting process with job postings, screening, and initial interviews as needed.
    • Screens and evaluates applicants for competence, background, and skill set, as well as overall ability to fit and thrive within the organization.
    • Scheduling interviews, creating offer letters, and initiating on-boarding.
    • Facilitates and delivers presentations on the organization's human resources policies and practices.
    • Advises team leads and management on human resources issues.
    • Supports operations on progressive discipline in identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
    • Guides all employees on benefit enrollments and performance appraisal process.
    • Works closely with all Senior Leadership to drive performance management, business and cultural transformation efforts and support Walnut's HR initiatives ensuring consistent messaging and training across the organization.
    • Roll out and manage employee-relations activities including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.
    • Coordinates employee events and activities in support of creating a positive work environment for all employees.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 4+ years' experience in HR environment
    • Understanding of human resources practices, including employment law, Affirmative Action, and EEO compliance.
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Good judgement in handling difficult situations with employees.
    • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work with all levels of management.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
    • Team player that works well with others. Should be comfortable with Excel and using data to objectively manage HR.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting.
    • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
    • Occasional loud noise.
    • Occasional varying environmental temperature changes.
