    Description

    Summary of Functions


    Responsible for daily administration of various team member benefit plans such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances by performing the following duties.

    Accurately process and enter data into the HRIS system.

    Assists in the development and the administration of employee salary administration programs and responsible for daily administration of various team member benefit plans.

    Responsible for maintaining all employee files by performing the following duties:


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- State of Washington Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulations, Northern Quest and Kalispel Tribe of Indians Policies and Procedures
    • Reviews proposed salary actions to ensure conformance with established guidelines and policies.
    • Administers and maintains a complex human resource information system (HRIS) to provide for accurate and useful information for proper human resource management.
    • Serves as HR liaison to payroll/finance function.
    • Provides support for all human resources inquires and HRIS including researching and helping resolve HRIS problems.
    • Writes, maintains, and supports a variety of reports, including ongoing standard reports.
    • Participates in salary surveys and analyzes results to determine organizations market relationship.
    • Assist all employees within KTI and KTEA umbrellas, answers day-to-day questions about human resources procedures and benefits plan's.
    • Assists with maintaining the salary administration program.
    • Responsible for periodic audits for team member files, I-9's, and 401 k files.
    • Maintains communication with all departments within KTI and KTEA umbrellas.
    • Assembles material for new hire packets and health and welfare enrollment.
    • Responsible for new hire orientation – including the preparation and presentation of material related to onboarding of the employee, health and welfare plans, 401(k) and Team Member discounts for all of KTI and KTEA employees.
    • Complete, collect, process, scan and file new hire paperwork, benefits enrollment forms and all updates.
    • Completes all verifications of employment.
    • Assists in the development and presentation of training material and process documentation using quantitative and creative reasoning
    • Responsible for assistance with open-enrollment function – including presentations.
    • Notarizing employee and management documents.
    • Responsible for day to day instruction of employee self-service over the web for payroll and benefit functions
    • Participates in the organization of financial and wellness benefit fairs when necessary.
    • Ensures confidentiality of all benefits, payroll and personnel records.
    • Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record.
    • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.
    • Assembles enrollment materials.
    • Collects, processes, files, and updates benefits-related documents.
    • Answers day-to-day questions about benefits procedures
    • Responsible for the open-enrollment function
    • Track and process monthly insurance billing

    Education


    • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

    Experience


    • Two to three years of human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
    • Two years of experience working with HRIS systems. UKG, UltiPro preferred
    • Experience in high volume human resources setting.

    Skills


    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
    • Ability to establish procedures for the effective implementation of the Human Resources Manager's directives. Prepare reports, correspondence and other information.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems having non-standard solutions.
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
    • Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to instruct team members on web self-service.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.

    Other Requirements


    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit.
    • Ability to become a Notary of the Public.
    • Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.

    Physical Demands

    • Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
    • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
    • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel time is generally less than a week.
