    Job Summary This is a one-year limited term academic year appointment.

    This position will primarily instruct academic courses in the university core curriculum (GC1Y & GC2Y) and other courses as necessary (and as qualified) in the exercise science program of study.

    The position will support the department, college and university goals by supporting the academic environment to benefit the educational mission of the University.

    Full-time instructional load teaching university core curriculum courses (GCY) and exercise science courses as needed.

    • Fulltime load for this position is a 5/5 teaching load per semester (or 15 credit hours of teaching per semester).
    • Lecturers (Limited Term and Permanent) are NOT required to conduct scholarship/research, they carry the heavier teaching loads in the department.
    Service may be at the department, college, university, community and disciplinary level. Duties include service on college-level and university-level committees, advising students regarding career options, and support of department-level outreach activities.
    Participation in special programs or projects

    • Required Qualifications Earned doctoral degree in field (exercise science, exercise physiology, sport physiology, kinesiology, etc.)

    ABD or master's level candidates considered if a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework has been in exercise science, human performance, strength and conditioning or another related field.

    Hiring preference will be given to faculty who demonstrate an understanding of Georgia College's mission and who are enthusiastic about working closely with high-achieving students within an academic community dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through learning and scholarship.

    Evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies is highly desirable.
