The community you will be serving: AdventHealth Wesley Chapel
Your role and responsibilities:
Working under the general supervision of the EMS Director, the Transport Nurse is accountable for the safe transportation of critically ill patients, collaborating with relevant staff members (EMT, CCEMT-P, EMT-P) in making patient care decisions. The Transport Nurse conducts and records patient assessments, treatments, medication responses, following department protocols and AdventHealth's policy. They adhere to all safety guidelines during patient transportation, both in and around vehicles/aircraft. The Transport Nurse keeps physicians informed of patient updates, coordinating with receiving RN and ensuring appropriate triage urgency. They actively engage in providing exceptional customer service and uphold harmonious relationships that are respectful to all. Additionally, the Transport Nurse complies with the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and adheres to the regulations of all relevant local, state, and federal authorities and accreditation bodies.
What you bring to the team:
Demonstrates effective assessment skills to deliver high-quality patient care.
Executes and documents precise initial assessments per unit standards, which may entail initial observations, data interpretation based on patient needs, safety precautions, discharge planning, psychological/social/cultural aspects, family requirements, comprehensive physical assessment across multiple systems, and evaluating patient/family understanding and preparedness to learn about the disease process and care necessities.
Reports pertinent information promptly to the responsible physician.Monitors patient lab work for patterns and notifies the appropriate physician of abnormal lab results, taking necessary actions.
Utilizes clinical data to implement suitable interventions.Conducts and documents continuous patient assessments that accurately reflect the physical and mental status of patients of varying age groups, from children to older adults, in accordance with unit standards and patient condition.
