- Work directly alongside the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Verify patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse.
- Assist with infection control and developing infection control protocols.
- Prepare and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Ensure patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
- Performing office management tasks
- Schedule appointments, answering telephone calls, billing and ordering supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor

Job DescriptionThis is a full time position located at the 3 Mile office of MLIH.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is necessary to assure the effective and efficient delivery of dental services. The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
