    Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of surgical patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality perioperative care, manage surgical instruments and equipment, and maintain a sterile environment. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in facilitating successful surgical procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to ensure patients are prepared for surgery, addressing any concerns or medical history issues.
    • Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing necessary equipment and supplies.
    • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressing any concerns or changes in the patient's condition promptly.
    • Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, including proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
    • Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with preoperative and postoperative education to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans.
    • Documentation: Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
    • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth flow of surgical procedures.
    • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgery, including code situations, while maintaining composure and following established protocols.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies promptly.
    Qualifications:
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
    • Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing or operating room setting
    • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques
    • BLS and ACLS certification required
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

    OR RN

    13 week assignment

    40 hrs

    10 hr days, 7a-5:30p (also open to 2 8's and 2 12's or 3 12's)

    On call two weeknights a week and 48-72 hrs of weekend call in a 6 week schedule (subject to change as needs change)

    AHA BLS & AHA ACLS required

    VA or multi-state license

    Must be able to scrub AND circulate

    2 yrs of experience required

    Must have Level I experience
