- Marietta – the team will be comprised of four psychiatrists and 2 Masters-level therapists. Therapists will work closely with the Outpatient Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive care for patients with biopsychosocial needs. This team will work collaboratively with primary care physicians in the Marietta area, as well as members of the inpatient psychiatry consultation-liaison team at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Whereas Kennestone does not have an inpatient behavioral health unit, it is a 633-bed tertiary care hospital that includes a robust psychiatry C-L service. The Outpatient Psychiatrist will work collaboratively with the Kennestone C-L psychiatrists to provide care to patients transitioning from the inpatient medical setting to outpatient care.

M-F, 8:00a – 5:00p
A member of the Mayo Clinic Network, WellStar Health System is an 11-hospital system, recognized as the 5th most integrated health system in the United States, and the largest health system in Georgia.
To this end, the Wellstar Medical Group is excited to announce new opportunities for Outpatient Psychiatrists whose role will entail (1) the provision of outpatient psychiatric care in a specialty behavioral health practice, (2) post-discharge follow-up appointments for patients receiving care at a Wellstar inpatient behavioral health unit, and (3) collaboration with Wellstar primary care physicians to assist in treating and stabilizing patients with primary/secondary psychiatric conditions.
Aims of this care model include the following:
This position will entail working with a variety of patients with diagnostic presentations including mood and anxiety disorders, severe mental illness, and substance use disorders.
Overview of Duties/Responsibilities
This is a full-time 40-hour per week position, with time allocated to the provision of clinical services.
Regardless of location, the Outpatient Psychiatrist work as a critical member of the Wellstar Medical Group's Behavioral Health team, which is comprised of ~85 licensed behavioral health providers.
Whereas this an outpatient position, the provider is encouraged/expected to obtain hospital privileges at a Wellstar hospital proximal to his/her outpatient location.
Openness to the use of telepsychiatry to achieve practice and group aims is preferred.Required Minimum Education: (1) completion of a medical degree (MD/DO), (2) completion of general psychiatry residency training program, and (3) license to practice psychiatry in the State of Georgia.
