Job Details:

Work 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 AM with bedside report
Every other weekend requirement
Rotate holidays with core staff
May float between SICU (Surgical ICU) and TICU (Trauma ICU) depending on census
Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 depending on acuity

Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred for trauma experience)

Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
Experience with ventilators required
Work with surgical patients including CEA, fem-pop, EVARs, laparotomies, and thoracic surgeries
Handle trauma cases, CRRT, ECMO, and rapid infusers
Common procedures include line placements and insertions

Dress code:
Navy scrubs with navy, white, or black undershirts

Use Cerner EMR system
Self-scheduling with manager approval, schedules available 4 weeks in advance
May float to other Sacramento facilities as needed
1-2 days floor-specific orientation with preceptor
Overtime and extra shifts available
Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This medical center operates as a Level 2 trauma facility providing comprehensive acute care services.

The facility features specialized intensive care units including both surgical and trauma ICUs with advanced capabilities for complex patient care.

The hospital maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with specialized ICU pharmacy support during day shifts.

The facility emphasizes interdisciplinary care with daily rounds on all patients and provides advanced life support equipment including ECMO and CRRT capabilities.
