About the JobThe
Accounting Manager
is a newly created position and will be responsible for enhancing the month-end close process to supportOperating Companies. This role will report directly to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities:
Perform the monthly and quarterly accounting close process and continuously improve processes to scale with the organization
Oversee expense tracking as well as the procure-to-pay process
Manage general ledger and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Provide support and analysis in the preparation of management presentations
Identify and implement improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day operations as well as the close process
Recommend and implement best practices regarding accounting policies and procedures
Build relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration both inside and outside of the finance and accounting teams
Assist with the AR and AP staff
Requirements:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
Strong understanding of GAAP
5+ years of work experience in the accounting field
Experience overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable department
Experience in people management
Audit experience and working with private equity-backed companies is a plus
