    ECI has an immediate opening for an Assistant Project Manager (APM) in its Mankato, MN office. T

    he APM will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

    Technical editing and document production.


    Requires a strong attention to detail, proficiency in MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu, and the ability to understand the deliverable in terms of the project, client need, and what is scoped.

    The ability to be available immediately, meet tight deadlines and be prepared to address last-minute modifications.

    Proofreading and editing documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format.

    Determining consistency and clarity of style within technical reports.

    Editing and/or rewriting of technical reports and documents for approval of author.

    Combining and tracking edits from multiple authors and maintaining proper version control of documents.

    Interacting with technical staff to clarify reports, meaning, format and style of work.

    Maintaining accurate administrative files.

    Documenting paperwork at the beginning and throughout the life of projects.

    Working with project managers to set up new projects efficiently and accurately and ensure initiation requirements are met.

    Developing and maintaining project guides and providing information and support for project reviews.

    Schedule and Budget Management.

    Assistance creating and managing client requisitions for materials, equipment and services.

    Providing regular and timely reporting on project performance and status including projected cash flow based on resource-loaded project schedules.

    Supporting client team meetings including scheduling and management of action items.

    Change management both internal and external.

    Administer project meetings and coordinate the actions required.

    Contact list created and maintained.

    Meeting Agenda/Minutes.

    Submittal/RFI logging and tracking.

    Schedule Updates.

    Manage/Track Change Logs.

    Log/Track/Ping for Lessons Learned and Cost Savings.

    Manage program documentation.

    Project close out documentation.

    Executing assignment and deliverable processes (including notifications and correspondence surrounding them).

    Filing and maintaining a QC database documenting internal compliance.

    Additional tasks include.


    Working with multiple project managers to apply project documentation and company quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project development and execution.

    Communicating clearly and effectively with both internal and external clients regarding project inquiries or department procedures/requirements.


    Administrative support for projects- this includes maintaining accurate files throughout life of a project, updating schedules using Primavera P6 Scheduling software and Excel, assisting project managers with project status, progress reports and invoicing requirements, attending and documenting meetings, tracking documents, and assisting with report deliverables where necessary.


    Minimum Requirements:


    Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred, in engineering, science, business, management or related field, 2+ years in project controls and hands-on Primavera experience preferred, and a minimum of 2 years of technical writing, document management, and administrative experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience required; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.

    Experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus.
