    Northwest Indiana Lighthouse Charter Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Academic Counselor.

    The Mission:

    The Academic Counselor will be dedicated to achieving high graduation rates and development of post secondary plans that include college acceptance or identified career pathways right out of high school.

    Engage in activities related to college readiness success (ACT/SAT testing, coaching and individual meetings with juniors and seniors, managing college applications, letters of recommendations and essays and meeting with parents)
    Create and maintain meaningful relationships with NWILCS scholars- advocate, push and coach
    Be an effective member of the College Preparatory Campus Team.

    This includes but not limited to:
    Advocate for college and career prep, Participate in strategic planning and leadership professional development, Partner with Principal as need to ensure CPC maintains high degree of college readiness culture, Providing College state reporting as needed
    Manage programming and keep up with data on Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Enrollment/AP and Honors Programs
    Maintain effective relationships with Community and College Partners and College and Career Vendors as needed
    Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with NWILCS Families in order to prepare scholars for college
    Comfortable transporting scholars to multiple College Campus and Career Exploration visits
    Coordinate with and participate with Network Collaboration related to college readiness. This includes being effective member of Lighthouse College and Career Advising Team
    Conduct transcript audits and communicate findings to prospective graduates
    Work with Senior Grade Level Team to identify NHS scholars
    Assist with graduation verification
    Collaborate with Post-Secondary Counselor to enlighten scholars of scholarship opportunities

    A Bachelor's Degree - Preferably in Education
